Laundry Room and Mudroom

Do you have enough space for a small home office? Do you have areas that could add more storage in your home? How do you make your space more cross-functional?

A client asked me to add storage to her new home that would support an active family household. She asked if we could utilize the laundry room to add in a small office space for her as well.

The mudroom and laundry room were a blank canvas. The ceilings were high and the floor space narrow. The homeowner needed a place for the washer/dryer, storage, dog door access, hooks for jackets and backpacks, and a space she could work from, as well as display all her football memorabilia.

What Did We Do?

Laundry Room: Bringing the washer/dryer to a height where the homeowner could access them without having to bend was the key to this laundry room. Storage below and above gave ample space for all the detergents and cleaning supplies, leaving space for a small home office and long shelves to support her memorabilia.

Mudroom: We added plenty of upper storage and hooks for the kids, as well as a great tucked-away dog door for the two dogs. We also incorporated a lowered section for seating and a pull-out shelf for all the shoes.

We created a space with ample storage, great accessibility and a polished look.
